The Barn will be a multi-purpose community space along the riverfront in West Sacramento.
At first, I thought “the Barn” was the name of the restaurant* that will be integrated into the footprint, but apparently the Barn is so much more.
A concert venue, a park, a place for refreshment and gathering. In my mind, it hearkens back to the idea of a village square, seeing how it will be near many of the new developments in West Sacramento.
The West Sac City Council voted back in May to approve $2.6 million for the development of the Barn project, set to open next Spring.
*Side note: although the restaurant has yet to be named, it will be a mix of “urban farm kitchen and beer garden.” The new hybrid-restaurant is the brainchild of Michael Hargis, Clay Nutting and chef Michael Tuohy – the team that brought us LowBrau, TBD fest and Block Butcher Bar. I expect great things.
